The Hokum Bros. offer up an eclectic mix of original tunes, sight gags, physical comedy and a pinch of nostalgia that ensures audiences will be wearing their happy faces long after their performance is over. Rare and original, their songs are catchy and integrated with humor; their lyrics speak of true-life experiences with a thread of the earliest cultural fabric we call Americana. Recent appearances include: The Flynn Center, Tanglewood, and Vermont International Film Festival.
The Hokum Brothers is Woody Keppel (guitar), Allan Nicholls (drums) and Gus Ziesing (accordion, saxophone, clarinet). Fun facts – Woody Keppel founded Burlington-based Festival of Fools; Gus Ziesing runs a recording studio and was a founding member of the 1980s Vermont band the N-Zones; and Allan wrote for Saturday Night Live for four years.
